Could it be????

This morning was the first time that my cousions and I and our friend larry had the chance to play together as a band. It was really good and the people of Hollis church of the Nazarene really like the sound. Could it be that we are going to take this to a new level??? Well we will just have to wait and see but as for now we are putting some songs together so that we are able to go out and do this if thats what the Lord wants us to do..... We dont have a name yet so that is to be determined but we will see what happens...... Keep a watch on my page and I will let you know soon!!!
CHRISTmas

Well here it is..... December 10th only 15 days till Christmas. This is such a wonderful time of the year, even when you are broke!!! Just a few months back I started selling off my pa system, sending out letters notifying pastors and music ministers of the end of this ministry and fearing the unknown. I am exited to say that God has been very faithful in meeting all of my needs above and beyond. The Ministry has been reorganized and set up a bit different now but looking forward I think you will like what you see and hear. Now don't think I have lost my country roots when I tell you I am doing more Praise & Worship than Southern Gospel. I have simply adapted to the times in which we are part of and allowed the music to speak to me in such a way that I want to share it with you. I am open on select Sunday Mornings in 2010 to come and lead worship at your place of Worship or present a concert of Praise. I will also continue my Southern Gospel Concerts from time to time with a new twist. I will share now though my concerts about missions and on some occasions preach. I want to say thank you to some very special people in my life for their wonderful support this past year. First is my beautiful fiance Kelsey Wiggins who has stood by my side through thick and thin. Kelsey means more to me than I can tell you and has been a huge blessing to my life. My mom and dad have also been a huge support as well as my very special dog Buster. Craig and Brittany Tackett who I have only known a few years have been such a huge blessing to me this past year and are some of the most loving, caring, ministry minded people I know. Although I love B's singing much more than Craig's. He ministers to me time and time again though a Thursday night Bible study called Rhythm www.rhythmva.com ! I also want to thank all of the churches, family members and friends that have prayed for me sent cards to encourage me or called me up to see how I was doing. Christmas will be different this year, for I cant spent as much as I have in years past but I can give more than I ever have. Its not about the money its all about the gift. What gift will you give this Christmas? Will it be Love, Joy, Peace, Time or will it be a roll of tube socks, a gift card, or a sweater from JCPenny? I encourage you to give Love, give time, give joy and forget about the toys and the clothes that no one really wants any way. May you all have a very Merry Christmas not a Happy Holiday and may your home be filled with Love from the Savior above.
Thanksgiving

Well it was a wonderful time to get together with family and friends this Thanksgiving. This year we broke tradition and had Thanksgiving at my sister & brother in laws house. It was great to see both families together and the food was delicious. I have so much to be thankful for this year. As I look back at this past year I have been blessed by so many friends and family. Not working has put a tremendous strain on me as well as finding out that I had cancer. Three places were removed two were basil cell one was melanoma. The surgery was done for me for free and they believe the cancer is all gone. I will undergo some routine checkups over the next few weeks as well as take extra precautions to be safe. God has supplied and met my needs and continues to do just that. I have had some very generous donations from some very special people who have been great friends over the past few years. The bottom line is I AM THANKFUL..... GOD IS FAITHFUL and I AM BLESSED!! Please keep me in your prayers as I look to continue in Ministry and serve the God that has given so much to me.

I hope to see you all soon

In His Love,
                    Joe
Joy Explosion

Joy Explosion has been a fun new ministry created and based out of my home church Mt. Pleasant Baptist. We are currently meeting every Sunday night with Kids from grades 1 -5 and having a ball. Joy Explosion is Real Worship, Kids Way!! Our slogan is weather were at a school gym, a soccer field, a church service or a children s event our goal is to introduce someone to Jesus. Last night the Spirit moved and one little girl from our church accepted Jesus, now ain't that what it's all about!! It sure is encouraging to see God work even in small numbers. Last night I spoke on Jesus healing the lame man by the pool and how sin sometimes has us bound. I want to encourage all the parents to have their kids there each Sunday night to spend time with their friends and to learn more about the Word. I look forward to seeing each of you over the next month and remember SCHOOL SUPPLIES!!!!!

GO Brownies and Fruit Loops !!!

The New Site.....

Hey Ya'll welcome to the new web - site. I am very excited about what God is doing in the lives of others that are letting God use them. I am also excited to tell you that this ministry is moving in a different direction. God has laid it on my heart to focus more on worship and less on " Concerts". This being said I will taking time to work with Pastors and other worship leaders to master a skill so that I can effectively lead others in Worship. I am still working with Kelsey doing Joy Explosion and I am very excited to be working with the younger stundents and children again. There are tough times ahead but I know that God is on control and that He is going to take us where we have never been before. I would ask that you be in prayer for the ministry and keep checking back to see what is new on the blog... this is kinda cool ive never had a blog before! We love you and hope to see you all real soon.

                                                            Joe & Kelsey

July 4th

Today is the day many of us wait for... Family cook outs, watermelon, swimming, and of course the big Fireworks display. July 4th like any other Holiday has become such a busy day rushing from here to there we often forget what its all about. Sure the cookouts are good and the Fireworks are beautiful but why do we celebrate this day? To me July 4th became more of a celebration after I visited Malaysia. You see their freedom is alot different and in some cases doesn't exist. We have been GIVEN the opportunity to live in a free country where we dont have to worry about what we say or do but others have not been awarded that same freedom. Many men and women have fought and even died to protect our freedoms and one of those freedoms is the right to choose what relgion we want to have or not have for that matter. We have the right to openly say that we are Men and Women of God and that we believe in a risen Savior and that He is the one true God. How would you like to live in one of these other places where they cant choose what God to worship or if they do they have to live in seceret in order not to die? It is a very hard place to be but I am glad that we have the freedoms that we have and this July 4th will be different b/c I know what it is to be FREE....... I close by asking you to pray for the people of foreign lands that cant be free that cant openly share Jesus that doors will be open for them and that they would be saved from death or persucution. God Bless Americia and God Bless the World !!
Back so Soon....

I just got back from Malaysia Sunday June 28th and my heart breaks for the people there. These people will forever change the way that I worship and the way that I will go about life. We as Christians take for granted the freedom that we have in Christ and we hide Jesus behind our every day lives with all the "stuff" we have to get done. There they share what they believe not matter if it is right or wrong and they love each other like Christ has asked us to. It was amazing to see the love of Christ shown through people who don't know Christ. I sit here heartbroken because we had to leave but I know that there are believers there that are working to see lives changed. Please be in prayer for the Praise Tamil Church, the Tamil, Chinese and Malay people and the Believers that are there working to share the gospel. For some it is illegal to be Christian there so that makes it even harder. I know that I serve a great big God though and He makes all things possible. For now I am going to be leading worship and working with the kids b/c I feel that is where God wants me. Keep me in your prayers and watch for the next blog....

Greater things are Yet to come.....

                                                  Joe
